Jaguar is going to have a very clear problem in getting people to pick this car once again.
As unbiased as I can be, the F-Type as it stands is not enough to make you leave the genuine perfection of the 911 and neither does it beat the V8 Vantage Vert for sheer theater and pomp.

That's right we never finished this debate... :D Here is where they will beat Porsche and Aston. Price and lease incentives, the V6 F has a much cheaper base price than the 911 or the Vantage and looks just as good as the V8. And the reality is, as much as they say they want a 911 fighter, Jag really isnt out to poach 911 sales (Boxster sales on the other hand, I think is a possibility). Jag is out to grab the wealthy older man who would have bought a Vette but feels the Chevy is "below him" ( I think the C7 is brilliant BTW) but it does not carry lux car "status." Jag will also poach Benz SL customers who want something different than their neighbors. Is the F-type a "brilliant" car? Not quite... but we know this because we are enthusiasts. The people that get this car are folks that see a commercial, or one on the street and say "I gotta have it" and they have the cash to do it.

Was riding with a friend a week or so ago and saw an F type. (he is a cat lover). I said, " Will you look at that kitty in the other lane". He damn near slammed on the brakes and says we should rescue it before it gets hit. Love my non car friends.
